Re: mp3 magically becoming m4a?
Don't you know someone which owns an ipod and has your account password ?
Password to... my MX account? Nope, and not an Apple anything in the house.
Just use Sound Converter. It'll fix it in a flash.
I'll remember that, thanks. Or... I'll just re-rip. Or see if an old HDD kicking around ...

mp3 magically becoming m4a?
All right this is a weird one, and I have no idea if this is the right forum, if there are any right forum for it here, for that matter.
Running MX-21.3 64-bit on an SSD that's shared with Windows 10.
So I had a collection of mp3s, ripped from my CD collection over the years. So far so good. I ...

Re: 'I Don't Care About Cookies' extension sold to Avast
Didn't even know there was such an extension. I've been cussing the EU ever since that crap started. I'd go so far as to say I want to see the EU completely dissolved based on that one thing.

Re: Brother DCP-7065DN driver: Lack of [Solved]
An addendum. It's acting as if it's going to install the brprinter driver but still kicks you to the 7045 option. But the solution is still just a matter of going in through Package Manager and installing the brlaser driver from there- then when you go to install the printer it does what's expected ...

Re: Brother DCP-7065DN driver: Lack of [Solved]
fehlix , one of the MX developers created a script for installing Brother print drivers, which can be found here:
https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=447475#p447475
Well that simplifies it a bit. I tried it out and it does cut out a few keystrokes  The driver didn't work, of ...

Re: Brother DCP-7065DN driver: Lack of [Solved]
Instead of using browser interface (the CUPS page), why not edit via the Print Settings GUI? If you double click on the icon of the printer entry in question, you can edit location, etc. You can even try different drivers from this page. Just click on the "Change" button to the right of "Make and ...

Re: Brother DCP-7065DN driver: Lack of [Solved]
I had problems installing the Brother Linux driver for my first Brother B&W laser-jet.
You ain't kidding. When I first got this one, they didn't yet have that bash-able deb file and I remember how much of a PITA it was to get the scanner working. I was using Linux Mint at the time and it ...

Re: Brother DCP-7065DN driver: Lack of [Solved]
Thanks for the replies, I do appreciate it but it's not that I can't get it to work- I did- it's that, where did what I was doing go?
Brother does not seem to make a DCP-7965 according to their UK and USA websites. I am proceeding on the premise that you made a typo.

Brother DCP-7065DN driver: Lack of [Solved]
Hey reckon this is the right subforum but move it if needs be....

Re: What distro do you favour? Beside MX/Antix of course...
Late in catching up to this thread.
When I opined I miss the Mint way of being able to do a full version upgrade (say from 20.x to 21) that's not to say I mind doing a fresh install- I have a terabyte HDD I use only for long term data storage, and it's a simple matter to dump the contents of my SSD ...
