Re: Problem getting sound through NVIDIA

First thing is to determine how these things got on your system. Does anyone else have access to it?

I can hear a faint sound coming out of the computer's onboard speakers when playing a YouTube video for instance.

Re: Problem getting sound through NVIDIA

The NVIDIA driver is already installed. I guess the Liquorix kernel recognized the card and installed the driver for me? Not sure. But when I went to install the driver I got this message:

nvidia driver already installed.

I will disable "Fast Startup" on Windows.

Problem getting sound through NVIDIA

I recently purchased a Dell Optiplex system with an NVIDIA card and just connected my speakers to the HDMI monitor. I can boot the computer in either Windows 10 or MX Linux.

In Win 10 the speakers work, but they don't in the Linux boot. My system configuration is as follows:

Re: Occasional screen lockup [Solved]

I installed the Liquorix kernel a few days back, and my system hasn't locked up since. Chartlie Brown suggested that I try that in a separate post in a different thread.

That seems to have solved this problem with screen lockups. Thanks again!

Re: Screen blanking while using DisplayPort connection [Solved]

Thanks Charlie. I installed the Liquorix kernel and my system hasn't locked up since. (This issue was mentioned in a different thread.) The system still won't work with the DisplayPort cable, but I can work around that by simply using the HDMI alternative. It appears that as part of the Liquorix ...

Update:

I have installed the liquorix kernel and so far have not had any screen lockups since then. Could this possibly have solved the problem?? Thanks.

Screen blanking while using DisplayPort connection [Solved]

Hi all.

I have a Dell Optiplex 7050 with an NVIDIA TU116 [GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER] graphics card. The card has an HDMI as well as a DisplayPort connector. I have used the HDMI port with no problems, however I wanted to switch to the DisplayPort so that I could free up the HDMI connector on my ...

Re: Occasional screen lockup [Solved]

The ram seems to be working fine. I have reseated it. Also, I am able to boot Win 10 on this same machine which runs with no problems.

I should mention that I have purchased this computer as a refurb from a local computer company. The computer did not originally ship with wifi or Bluetooth ...
