Re: MX-21 "ahs" (Xfce) RC3 feedback

I've been monitoring xorg usage since you're post, I've not seen it go over maybe 4-5% without having a bunch of things open or something doing a lot of work.
This is on a all AMD system and an Intel small board computer, so I can't verify there isn't a issue with systems similar to yours.

Re: MX-21 "ahs" (Xfce) RC3 feedback

High CPU usage from Xorg

With Mx Linux, the CPU usage by Xorg is about 30%. With Pop Os, with the same hardware, the usage is about 10% or slightly less.

The script below runs automatically at the start of the session (sometimes it fails, and I run it in the terminal).

#!/bin/bash

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)

Also before messing around with all these settings and config files, it'd be good to have a fresh TimeShift Snapshot BEFORE and AFTER running the Nvidia Driver Installer. Cause troubleshooting can get messy with Optimus laptops (I think we had a dedicated thread for one person that was 100 posts ...

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)

@Leodudu i personally don’t have any Nvidia hardware, used to, but Optimus systems can be tricky in way the GPU connects to the the outputs. Vendor integration can vary from laptop to laptop.

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)

@Leodudu when you installed the Nvidia drivers you used the Nvidia Driver Installer and selected that you have an Optimus enabled system?

Yes.

Monitors connected to HDMI and mini displayport are detected but not working.
When I run "xrandr --setprovideroutputsource NVIDIA-G0 modesetting" then the monitors work.

How to make these changes permanent?
Thanks
