Re: MEDION MD 96370/WIM 2170: internal WLAN hard blocked

I might try that, since the laptop probably needs a new cmos battery anyway. Disassembling unfortunately is no small feat, since the board needs to come out completely and the display has to be removed too to access the battery, looked that up already.

Fn+F7/8 do nothing, tried that already.

MEDION MD 96370/WIM 2170: internal WLAN hard blocked

I've got my hands on an old MEDION MD 96370/WIM 2170 laptop from 2007 and I'm having trouble bringing up the internal wlan adaptor. rfkill reports it being "hard blocked". Supposedly there should be some button on the laptop to enable wlan, but I can't find anything. There's also nothing on the Fn ...

Re: timeshift: are there hiddeon configs?

timeshift.json ist the only config file. All other exclusions are hard coded into the program. Timeshift's exclude/include syntax can be very confusing. It's a while back I last configured it, but I remember you have to include directories before their contents. Back then there was also a bug with ...

Re: When will MX Linux 24 be released? [Solved]

Debian 13 will probably be released in mid-2025, so the next MX release (MX-25) will probably be not ready before late 2025.

I think you can comfortably do fresh installs with MX-23 at the moment.

Re: migration 21 to 23, stuck no x no lightdm

The thing with in-place upgrades is that troubleshooting them usually takes longer than doing a fresh install and you can never be sure there won't be more problems later. So I guess you will have to bite the bullet this time. One thing that's interesting in my opinion is finding the reason why the ...

Re: Backup of MX Linux

We've seen reports here of folk using MX-Snapshot to create an ISO image of their complete system as large as 700-800GB in size, and verified them to be a workable full-recovery solution. That's pretty cool. MX-Snapshot is really one of the gems of the MX-Tools suite. I'd recommend backing up data ...

Code: Select all

who -u | awk '{print $1}'
