I have jotted down in my notes that Steam has to be installed BEFORE installing Nvidia.

Not a clue if that might be it though.


The OP should check to see two things:

1. did they answer the question about accepting the EULA in the affirmative.

2. is the home folder full

I would just like to add on some versions of MX the binary is nvidia-detect-mx for clarity. At least on my version of mx linux

I am having an issue trying to install steam and I think it may be to do with NVidia drivers but am unsure.

I have tried uninstalling, restarting and reinstalling multiple times and installing some drivers but no luck so far

I am getting a basic problem installing Steam and am also wondering if it is a driver based error. My installation will not get past verifying download despite uninstalling and reinstalling several times. Any quick fix?

I suspected it was something like this differing between distributions but wanted to confirm just so I was certain about the integrity.

I have a quick question regarding verifying the integrity of my 32bit MX Linux iso download. My experience in verifying signatures is from a Kali background.

I have checked the sha256sums and md5sums for the image according to this successfully:
