Yes, that'll work after they install that outside repo and its key, but only after. Just want to make sure.
The package only shows after u install alacritty from the debian package and doesn't show if u uninstall it

Sorry to keep bumping this thread but searching for alacritty debian also lead me to this

which allows adding ppa (maintained by pop!_os team apparently). I know adding ppa is not really recommended but I will get auto update notifications ...

Installing Alacritty [Solved]
I am unable to install alacritty. After reading the error msg from
cargo build --release ( same for cargo install alacritty )
I believe the problem is due to the error msg during installing the prerequisites as mentioned in their installation instructions:
apt-get install cmake pkg-config ...

I regularly update my system as soon as the updates are shown. But this information remain frozen. Comparing with this https://mxlinux.org/current-release-features on latest features there doesn't seem to be any other trouble. But is there a way I can fix this?
