Re: Unable to set new alarm in Kalarm [Solved]
After a few days, the "New" button was no longer grayed out and I was able to create new alarms. I have no idea why it didn't work at first and why it works now. So the problem has been solved.

Re: Brightness not changable with FN+F4 / FN+F5 [Solved]
If still not: (with none of the kernels) you can try these (one at a time) as boot parameters:
acpi_backlight=video
I had already experimented with boot parameters but not with acpi_backlight=video. And that was the solution!
The function keys work and the set value persists after ...

Re: Brightness not changable with FN+F4 / FN+F5 [Solved]
Sct is definitely a useful feature. But I work for image processing with a calibrated monitor. Changing the color temperature would be unfavorable. The brightness can be adjusted on the notebook. Only the function keys should also be able to change the brightness value.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I hadn't tried the obvious yet. However, kernel 5.16 made no change. (Only WiFi didn't work).Huckleberry Finn wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 9:49 am You can try 5.16 kernel from MX Package Installer - Popular Apps tab.

Brightness not changable with FN+F4 / FN+F5 [Solved]
The brightness of the backlight cannot be changed using the FN+F4 / FN+F5 keys on an Asus Expertbook P1511 Notebook.
The brightness popup appears and shows the current brightness value. But nothing changes when pressed the FN+F4 / FN+F5 keys.

Re: Hot Plugging with internal SATA Drives on MX Linux 21 not working
I just installed a current MX21 xfce again and then tried to install the 4.9.0-294 kernel. Booting fails with error messages and I couldn't test it.
So I can only say that Hot Plug with MX21 is basically not possible with this board.
Hot Plug works with MX19 4.19 but not with MX21 4.19.

Re: Hot Plugging with internal SATA Drives on MX Linux 21 not working
It makes no difference whether it is a live system or an installation.
Hot Plug does not work with Asus B550+ on: all MX21 versions, on Manjaro XFCE and Manjaro Cinnamon.
But it works very well on Xubuntu, Kali XFCE, OpenSuse XFCE. It doesn't really indicate a fundamental problem in XFCE...

Re: Hot Plugging with internal SATA Drives on MX Linux 21 not working
Meanwhile, the Bios 2604 for Asus Prime B550+ is no longer a beta. But a bios update made no change. MXLinux still does not respond when a SATA drive is switched on or off (hotplug).
Manjaro Gnome and Plasma works fine. Manjaro XFCE also does not respond to hotplug. Could it be an XFCE issue?
