Thanks Chris. I will check the BIOS. I will look at ebay batteries. I have bought from amazon and Alibaba and they were good for a year or less, but maybe ebay has better suppliers.

I like my installation's settings, tweaks, etc... I would like to populate the world or at least my laptops with this bliss. Can I do this ? I remember Peppermint Linux had a way of creating such a beast.

but, solution 3 is not a solution. add a note to your desktop and try it. the only way to remove a note is right click along the frame of the note (has to be the frame or outline) and wait for the menu to pop up, there is a delay, but there is a delete option ...
