Yes, you can try whether it helps. Also it depends a bit which conf files have been updated, b/c the newer ones which com with mx23
have been made to keep os-prober enabled.
That was it, I just booted into Windows, thanks a lot!
So I set
GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false
then
sudo update ...

I disabled the Fast Boot and increased the timeout to 10 seconds in the BIOS.
I also opened MX Boot Options, clicked on "Manage UEFI Boot Options", chose Boot0009* ubunut, and clicked Removed entry.
Unfortunately I still don't get the option to log into Windows. Moreover, removing ubuntu in MX ...

How can I get the options to boot into either OS (linux or windows) at the start up again?
Use UEFI Boot options list to select the uefi boot loader.
of the installed OS's.
You may need to press at POST a Fn-key or another like [Del], to get the
efi boot option selection list.

Where did you install grub?
Your screenshot (post #7) shows an efi boot partition (sda1) but the efi boot manager shows MX23 (sda4) as the default boot partition.

Just to be on the safe side: should I choose the Boot Method installed on MBR, root, or ESP? MX Boot Repair gives me these three options to choose from.
Your QSI shows that UEFI is in use, so your choice should be ESP.
