Word processor issues/recommendation for a light one
I had an issue with Libre Writer saving slowly so I installed Abiword, but then it has an issue with not actually reverse search when I check the box - I have to go to the top of the document. AW also sometimes have a write error, which makes me wonder if it's an issue with my SSD. But I don't see ...

Re: Rob Braxman can't recommend MX to newbies.
I think there's a difference between newbie, which implies there is a learning curve of some kind, (at some point you are no longer new) and people who expect zero learning. In the case of the latter they really just want to stay with what they "know," or essentially are conditioned for/used to ...

Is there good support for USB 3.0 monitors?
Is there support for portable USB 3.0 monitors with MX 19.3, or other versions? If so is it plug and play or what is involved in setup, am I better off getting one with HDMI input or is it relatively easy? Given the price point for a nice IPS FHD display I may also be more interested/motivated in ...

Re: [solved] Can MX selectively update? [Solved]
Hmm, I only looked for that because after skipping Firefox and Signal, I noticed that one still didn't update/didn't show with the box checked and was showing in both the MX Updater via the desktop/green box as well as MX Package Installer. It was libexiv2 fwiwi, I had looked it up because I was ...

Re: [solved] Can MX selectively update? [Solved]
Minor addition for anyone else who may come across this: I also had to deselect the box for Hide library and developer package on the bottom so those are available.

[solved] Can MX selectively update? [Solved]
Simply put, check boxes to select/deselect - I have things that do not need to be updated every time because of low bandwidth and they are large downloads, along with the fact that I don't use them often. I've looked at the MX package installer and maybe I'm braindead but I don't see a way to easily ...
