Answering my own question - going with FocusWriter.

Which version of MX are you running? Also do you have the PCI id? The Debian device database is unfortunately pretty dated, 2014 from the looks of it.

Is there support for portable USB 3.0 monitors with MX 19.3, or other versions? Minor addition for anyone else who may come across this: I also had to deselect the box for Hide library and developer package on the bottom so those are available.

Simply put, check boxes to select/deselect - I have things that do not need to be updated every time because of low bandwidth and they are large downloads, along with the fact that I don't use them often.
