Re: Need install next Linux after MX and Windows
It depends on the Linux distro you are adding. If the installer for the 2nd Linux has the option to install alongside windows and other detected installations, it gives you a slider or some equivalent to decide how much to shrink windows or whatever else to make room for the install. I stayed away ...

Re: Joystick - mouse conflict
Thanks, @JayM. By the way, one more bit of info... When I open HardInfo to look at my devices, the USB gamepad is shown in the USB Devices category as a Dragonrise USB Gamepad. It is also shown in the Input Devices section as a USB Gamepad. Clearly, the system knows what it is. But it still works as ...

Re: Joystick - mouse conflict
I just got on the forum to talk about this same issue. A search of previous posts turned up nothing relevant. This is obviously a MX-specific issue. I've never had this problem with any other distro. I am actually running the cinnamon desktop on MX, but logged into XFCE just to make sure. It was the ...

Re: Ideas/opinions on Hypnotix (now on LinuxMint 20.1) [Solved]
Understandable, SwampRabbit. A little side note... I'd like to see an official release of MX Cinnamon one day.

Re: Ideas/opinions on Hypnotix (now on LinuxMint 20.1) [Solved]
I am running MX Linux 19.3 with the Cinnamon DE added on from the MX Package Installer. (I prefer the Cinnamon Desktop over XFCE.) I went to Github the other day and downloaded and installed the Debian package for Hypnotix. It works just fine on MX with Cinnamon. Sure, it needs some refining, and ...

Cinnamon Desktop on MX Linux
Myself, I prefer the Cinnamon Desktop, so I installed it on MX Linux 19.3. I used the XFCE Desktop for a while, but there are a lot of things I don't like about it. Things I just couldn't find a satisfactory solution for, so I left it behind. Yes, there are a few issues with using the Cinnamon DE on ...

Re: Really dumb sound issue
If this actually matters to anyone else, here's the solution... Install the Cinnamon DE from the MX Test Repo and use it instead of XFCE. Cinnamon has much better customization for system sounds, anyway. And it waits until the logoff sound plays before logging off.

Really dumb sound issue [Solved]
It's ridiculous that I should even have to ask this question, but here goes. I'm running MX Linux 19.2 XFCE, pretty standard install. I wanted to play around with using system sounds and doing some customization. I've had no problem figuring out how to use custom sound files for logon and logoff ...

Re: Screen keeps going blank (off) until I start typing
Just to let you folks know, I had run across this topic when I searched the forum, because I was having the same problem. I knew it started happening while installing and uninstalling different packages. At first, I thought it was only happening while I had the MX Package Installer running, but then ...
