Re: MX 21 - Screen Stays Dark after Blank [Solved]
Though it's already "Intel"
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.11 driver: intel
... nothing to lose (sometimes this weirdly solves such issues):
Menu => "MX Tweak" : "Other" tab : "Use Intel instead of modesetting ... " ... Apply , reboot.
This worked for me, thanks! My situation was ...

Re: MX-Snapshot = Awesome Tool
UPDATE: Issue was solved by adding the boot parameter "from=all". I'm keeping this post here in hopes it may help somebody else with the same problem.
Thanks Adrian. I'm now taking a different approach, storing the snapshot on the hard drive (it's under 3 GB), and making a GRUB menu entry to launch ...

Re: MX-Snapshot = Awesome Tool
BTW, the new release is almost ready, it needs some testing, it has a nice feature: being able to run it completely from CLI (think headless server, or computer where the Desktop is not working for some reason)

Re: 19.3 moving disk to different HW - no HW autodetect
That sounds even better. From our standard PXE boot to CLI, I already mount the server's disk image folder on the client machine via NFS. Thus I can script a simple dd from that NFS drive to the local disk. That keeps our automation flow intact. (It also includes a HW inventory, written to a ...

19.3 moving disk to different HW - no HW autodetect
I volunteer at a charity that reconditions old donated machines, installs Linux on them, and distributes them to people who need them. We install the software by first creating a "golden image" (hand install on a target machine, tweak browser bookmarks, etc.). Then we use Clonezilla to ingest that ...

Re: NICs not enumerated after installation
YAY! Thanks, that got the WiFi going. Any ideas on how to get the BCM4401-B0 Ethernet NIC going? UPDATE: I unblocked the B44 driver and all is well. WOOT!

[SOLVED] NICs not enumerated after installation
Hi. I have provisioned dozens of machines with MX 19.2 32 bit without trouble. However the latest installation on an old Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop does not enumerate the NICs. It has a Ethernet NIC (Device-1) and a WiFi NIC (Device-2), see inxi output below. But ifconfig doesn't find them. Running ...
