Re: pm-suspend works only occasionally, often fails

Sadly, quite often suspend fail now. I cannot figure out what is different between the times that it fails and the times that it manages to accomplish the feat of suspension when I close the lid. Often, after I close the lid, and touch the back after 10 minutes of being closed, it is rather hot. I ...

Re: X-Ray - Dicom - View

Aeskulap stopped developing in 2007.
Amide uses it own proprietary file format.
Have not tried XMedon yet.

Re: pm-suspend works only occasionally, often fails

Thanks-- it seems to work (for now..;-) Where did you find that command? More importantly-- how can I attach it to lid closing of the laptop? Selecting the appropriate option in the Power manager didn't do the trick-- it worked only occasionally.

Re: pm-suspend works only occasionally, often fails

It looks as if the ONLY reliable way to suspend this laptop is to go to the whisker menu, and choose Suspend from the logout options. If I only knew what command is being used there, I could attach it to some keyboard shortcut...

Re: Revive internet connection after VPN use

I have deserted nordvpn in favor of Surfshark. However, Surfshark also has similar Internet Killing issues after disconnecting, although it seems that they are making some progress in fixing it.

Re: Passkeys technology said to be in the pipeline

Google supposedly has now implemented passkeys to replace passwords, but it claims that it cannot create a passkey for this device (meaning-- my laptop running MX linux 21.3...)
As is often the case, passkeys work just fine on the same machine running Windows 11 (dual boot).

Re: Cannot install R 4.3

Einstein supposedly said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results. I am, therefore, insane, since I just repeated your suggestion AGAIN, and this time it went through without a hitch, and I now am running R 4.3.0. Thank you-- it has been a ...

Re: Cannot install R 4.3

Fehlix: I tried your version, using cran40, but it still gagged on the key. I must be doing something different from what you are doing, sadly. As requested, here is my Quick Info. ------------- Snapshot created on: 20221126_0604 System: Kernel: 6.1.0-7mx-ahs-amd64 [6.1.20-1~mx21+1] x86_64 bits: 64 ...

Cannot install R 4.3 (SOLVED)

I need to use R 4.3 (previous versions do not do what I want). I have no problem doing it in Windows, but on the same machine running mx 21.3 I failed miserably, due to some key issues. Here is what I did: in the terminal, I typed: sudo echo "deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian bullseye ...
