I tried these. The second and third ones causes the screen to go back briefly but came back again with the resolution problem. The first one didn't do anything noticiable...

Do you mean to try these commands and then go into suspend, and see if it's normal afterwords? Or try these when the screen is not displaying properly?

I tried the suggested screen res change but it didn't fix the problem....

Dang! I still get the bad screen after suspend... thanks for the suggestions so far...
