If there is ONE thing that I miss in Linux, then it is a decent photo editor.
There is The GIMP, of course (and Pinta, and a few other smaller ones), but I think that the real meaning of GIMP is "Greatly Irritating Miserable Program", because, ghaaaa.
Sure, it gets things done (well...), but I ...

Re: Do any of ya'll play the free Linux games?
Anyone ever played " Civilisation: Call to Power " for Linux?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization:_Call_to_Power
I once purchased it and played it in Mandrakelinux, I believe, it was. It ran well, I remember.
" Drone riots " - no, wait, that was " Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri " (in ...

Microsoft on Linux?
< shudder >
Just use Softmaker FreeOffice 2018 - it will open your MS Office files for you just fine.
As a way to support a little, unknown "underdog" I use the paid version of Softmaker Office in Windows and in Linux Mint (mainly Textmaker, though), and I can say that it ...

Re: MX Fluxbox Screenshots
I ran Fluxbox/Debian on my late Core2Duo machine. It had a kind of green theme with a fluXbox - resembling "Xbox" logo - wallpaper on it. It was very nice, imo.
(On that machine Debian ran great. OpenSUSE, for comparison, on it ran like a turtle on Valium... Debian rocks. Thank you, Ian Murdock...)

<Bump>, if I may?
Being a new MX user, I come across this thread. Is this still active, or more a "don't bother"?
There should be a bar in yellow at the top that says to click to edit. At least there was in my LO 6.3.3 (Debian Backports). Otherwise I believe you can just copy and paste into a ...

When gnome3 was released, I escaped from Ubuntu to Linux Mint
Sounds about the same as my "story".
My first real Linux install was Ubuntu 7.10 (back in 2007) and then 10.04, until Gnome 3 came out, at which point I "defected" to Linux Mint and never looked back.
I remember trying SuSE Linux ...

Old computer (HP), new install (MX 19.1)
Hello MX'ers,
I am now for 2 days running MX Linux 19.1 on a very old computer (and I do mean very old - just look at the date of the BIOS, below!)
It is also running Linux Mint 19 xfce, and it still (!) contains a Windows XP partition (the password of which I probably no longer remember ...
