A couples of hours later - Installing the New AV Linux 21.2.1 <<< Yes that is what I was missing. ( I got in so much trouble with the Openbox.... to much to mention)

I have a AV Linux MX Edition 21.2.1 ISO 99% ready to release and I have a nagging notion in the back of my brain (the part where the dust and cobwebs are) to go back to a pure XFCE4 setup and revert/remove Openbox...

If you can be patient there is an updated AV Linux ISO coming this week, it will go back to a complete XFCE4 Desktop Environment (without Openbox) and once again restore the ability to have launcher Icons on the Desktop.

Here is what i edit in that file:

[Default Applications]
video/mp4=vlc.desktop
video/webm=vlc.desktop
video/x-matroska=vlc.desktop
image/png=ristretto.desktop
audio/RPP=reaper.desktop
audio/x-wav=vlc.desktop
application/pdf=qpdfview.desktop
audio/RPP=reaper.desktop ...

... Even when i do - open with Other Application ... Did you tick the checkbox "Use as default for this kind of app." ... ?


In the file properties open with other application:
There is no checkbox "Use as default for this kind of app"
Or is there a othere place where you make that happen?

I tried to open a Reaper project from within Thunar - project_001.RPP file.
Default it opens with Mousepad.
So i tried to change this with open with Other Application
I choose for Reaper 6 Linux and give it OK
But instead of staying on my new choise, it falls back on Mousepad
Even when i do - open ...
