Re: MX-23.4-KDE-Christian
Cool never heard of this. I already use the KDE build so wouldn't be using this distro build but I would like to know what the core apps are and would even appreciate a script to install them on my deployment. Thanks and good luck!

Network Installation fails on RICOH-SP-C261SFNw Laser Printer
I have this RICOH Color Lasert Printer SP-C261SFNw that works fine on my machine with a USB connection but fails to install over a network connection. I am running the KDE Build of MX-Linux 23.3 w/ KDE Plasma v 5.27.5. Using the printer configuration GUI it immediately recognizes the network printer ...

Critical Openssh Vulnerability - UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM NOW!
@all - there's a serious openssh vulnerability that a LOT of repos are going to be susceptible to https://ubuntu.com/security/CVE-2024-6387 You're going to want to do this set of commands to get the latest one: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install --only-upgrade openssh-server That should get ...

Re: Laptop KDE GUI broke suddenly
Turns out somehow Nvidia drivers got installed over my other ones during some update. Don't know how but doing 'ddm-mx -p nvidia' cleared them out and after a reboot I'm back up and running. Thanks for everyone's assistance.

Re: Laptop KDE GUI broke suddenly
Partitions have plenty of space. I did not knowingly install any new video drivers but would be interested in learning how to reset my video driver at the command line as it seems to me that this behavior could be due to a bad video driver. I'm curious what plymouth actually does and what might ...

Laptop KDE GUI broke suddenly
My laptop Xwindows just stopped working at boottime. I'm running the KDE distro build of MX 21.3. System comes up then switches into GUI mode but just has a black screen with a white blinking cursor in the upper left corner. When I alt-F1 I see this error message about plymouth service not working ...

Big weird update broke my KDE MX 21.3 Desktop Hard
My main Kde MX-Linux desktop machine just fubar'd. It suddenly requested to download 400+ packages in an upgrade (my similarly configured laptop never saw this) and ultimately rebooting the system made it drop booting into kde and completely forget all network drivers. I'm guessing this is likely ...

Nouveau begin idle timeout filling up my syslog
With my latest MXLinux install on my new laptop, syslog is getting pounded with the following message. I have no idea what it's about or how to suppress it. Re: Wireless suddenly quit working for one of my routers.
I upgraded the kernel as Huckleberry Finn recommended and then my wifi wouldn't connect to ANY router... ;-) haha damn
But - I did find the new BIOS v410 on the ASUS site and upgraded as razor2021 recommended then suddenly wifi connected to everything.
So...all's well that ends. Thanks guys!
