@fehlix Oh, pity. Are there plans to add this functionality?

There's MX updater icon in the tray. I selected "right click" + "Hide until updates available". Icon is gone.
After reboot, icon is back. Shouldn't my decision to hide icon survive reboot?

quite a difference. You are right! But both are excessive IMO.

Opera will still 'hang' but it won't freeze your system anymore.

I see it tries to overwrite files from a docklike-plugin 0.1a-1, did you previously compile and install it yourself? We have never had that version in our repos.

We had someone report they used then MX-19 version when I posted the MX-21 thread and I tested the install myself, but can test again ...
