OK, error message:
Could not apply changes.
Fix broken packages first.
But I fixed it by apt --fix-broken install.
Or did I do something wrong?

As I did mention I use several distros, not only Debian Testing. Let's take Peppermint, I use it also, and absolutely no problem with installng and using Howdy 2.6.1, while it is also bullseye like MX21. The repos are also the same.
I tried it with version 2.5.1 as well, but no success.

OK, I understand it, but I used the deb file from github and I followed the there described method.
I use several distros among others for example Sparky too, which is also Debian based, and I have no issue with Howdy.
And the case is the same with other not Debian based distros, I can use it on ...

I did not mention that I use MX21. Do you need more info? I use MX19 as well, but there isn't any issue with howdy.
