Yes I ran it from the USB drive, then used the installation icon on the desktop. There is no /var/log/minstall.log file, I seem to be running from the USB every time... I install to MBR... Here's the quick system tool...which finding this was at teh limit of my ability ;-) System: Host: mx1 Kernel ...

Thanks for the suggestion...I was able to disable the secure boot...I double checked that is was disabled...tried to perform the install again, same message boot device not found.

Hi, I'm new to Linux. This is my first install on a 4 year old HP laptop. I've created a bootable version on a USB device using RUFUS. I can run from the USB device. I've tried installing 6 times using the installer on the desktop but when I attempt to run without the USB says: Boot device not found ...
