Re: GRUB not installed at 95% of installation
If it's a 17 or 18 year old PC then it's from 2002 or 2003 and is probably a 486 or first-gen Pentium. MX Linux isn't going to run on that hardware anyway. IIRC the minimum processor for MX is a Pentium II p4 was out by then. in fact it launched in 2000. mx will run on that. pentium ii launched in ...

Re: Command line help ELM327
this may provide a couple leads: https://obd2-elm327.com/obd2-elm327-can-not-connect-ecu it does not appear to include the solution. it describes part of the functionality (without going into a lot of detail) that could be responsible for the problem. in particular, you might double check that the ...

Re: How many of you need a 32 bit distro?
The only reason I see for dropping 32bit support is laziness in not wanting to maintain it. even i wont go that far. its the first thing i think of, and its partly true. to be fair, lots of distros find themselves cutting various corners due to lack of resources. this is one of those corners. its a ...

Re: How many of you need a 32 bit distro?
No point in going back to 32bit now. "it works for me!" proprietary software is all about forcing people to throw out good software and good hardware. one of the last straws with windows for me was when someone i knew had a perfectly good printer and the upgrade to xp simply dropped support. this ...

I guess I need to update my associations. yes, if you want to bow to industry propaganda. check out the page on openbsd for similar schlock: https://madaidans-insecurities.github.io/openbsd.html some "security" people are like lawyers, theyre always looking for a way to make their next paycheck ...

Re: Security OS.
hypothetical with regards to mx/antix, though i notice that the sandboxed distros that take it seriously tend to go in one of two directions-- either towards a very software-laden server platform, or some wannabe android clone, complete with snap or flatpak. ive played around with distros like that ...
