I noticed your selection of Apps is very limited and even more restricted to the four default apps (Firefox, Thunderbird, Thumar and XFCE terminal. Is there any way to get Nemo as my default file manager?
I have, of course, been using Thumar, don't like it, but did not seem to have any choice ...

Yes, very. Distro is a OS and desktop environment is the graphic interface for that OS.

Okay, sorry I was not more specific. Things like the "pdf" app, media app, text app and other useful and utility apps.
I would assume this change will not be part of the "rolling release" but that I will need to install ver. 21 to get the benefit of the change.

Compared to other flavors of Linux I have used yours is extremely limited. I understand the concept you are operating on, but having a page to makes those changes just seems easier and more flexible

I am using MX 19.3, fully updated and somehow my downloads started going to my home directory rather than downloads.
Typing "gedit -./pam_environment sounds good and the easy way to go. One tiny problem, when I type the line I get "bash gedit not found.
