CookDaddy, did you ever get your front USB ports working? Someone's just reported having the same issue on a ThinkCentre with MX-18.3 so I was wondering if you found a solution that might also work for him.

This is petty, but automount takes 15 seconds to pop up notification and open Thunar, much slower than other distros I've used. That seems excessive. Is it?

Finally getting back to this issue.


The only thing that I can suggest is that a computer that old may be happier with the Debian 4.9 kernel rather than the default 4.19-05 kernel. Older computers and older kernels seem to work well together. Other than that, antiX would run a lot faster on it ...

do other ports not work, or just the front ones? and If I understand correctly, the front ports work when running the live-usb? Do the rear ones still work when running the live-usb?

I'm putting the MX-19 beta 2.1 on an old Pentium 4 IBM ThinkCentre. After the install, all was well except the USB's I put into the front ports to transfer some files were not detected. lsusb confirmed. So I checked using the live-usb, and there were no problems. Any suggestions?
