Re: Numlock is on...but it's not [Solved]
Hey, everyone.
Customizing the KDE edition on my desktop and I can't manage to have the NumLock key on when booting although I've ticked the appropriate box in Settings.
Any ideas?
PS The same applies to the XFCE edition on my laptop.

Re: Numlock is on...but it's not [Solved]
I know it's not on not because of any light that might be off but because I try to log in and the key doesn't work.
I have to press it and then it works.
So, long story short, this setting doesn't seem to work either in XFCE or KDE.

Re: PC not booting...don't know why
Before I do what you suggested, I opened it up, cleaned it, replaced the thermal paste on the CPU and was also able to fix the on-board WLAN card that was not working properly. When I booted up, there was a beeping sound (5 times, probably meaning CMOS battery, which I replaced).
After the beeping ...

Re: PC not booting...don't know why
Thanks for the answer.
Yes, the laptop is old and I'm sure that's the reason.
I'll try to replace the paste although opening up laptops is not my cup of tea (unlike desktops).
