Re: Lightdm isn't working right [SOLVED]
After hours trying to find out "what the heck " was happening with my system (and have found hardware issues -- defective RAM modules... -- a missing directory : ' inittab.d ', which is just sort of "left-over" on Debian 12 based distros like MX…; and even an inconsistency between the hardware clock ...

Lightdm isn't working right [SOLVED]
I've got troubles with recent 22.6 update, although I'm not sure if the only culprit was the latest update itself.. (my hardware is old, and I realised that two RAM modules weren't working fine... I had to take them out, but, fortunately, still have 16 GB of RAM installed..) After two failed ...

Re: Session startup sounds not working
Uodate coming soon. I’ve been trying to force the sound not to play until the soundsever is actually running. This condition is different on sysvinit vs systemd and I think I broke something in some cases. So, can I wait for a solution to that issue within a next update of the system?... Btw, about ...

Re: Session startup sounds not working
So, the issue could be related to the sound server itself?...
And, which one? MX now comes with Pipewire too, but it's not active in my system, only PulseAudio (which I don't like but, so far, it's the default...).

Re: YouTube videos lagging in Vivaldi and other browsers [SOLVED]]
Just an update on the issue: I realized that my motherboard ASUSTeK model: M5A78L-M/USB3 has built-in HDMI port and its onboard GPU AMD RS780L [Radeon 3000] ; then, I decided to give a try to that, and took off the 'legacy' offboard graphics card (AMD Cedar [Radeon HD 5000/6000/7350/8350 Series]) I ...

Re: YouTube videos lagging in Vivaldi and other browsers
I tried to turn off hardware acceleration on both Firefox and Vivaldi, to no results. Videos kept stuttering. But, as said, in Firefox those network cache configurations tweaks seemed to solve the problem. Yes, CPU temperatures are higher than normal because I'm running with a little overclock (2 ...

LibreOffice - how to update?
Hi, I have a question that can look silly, but it's not. I have installed LibreOffice 7.6.4 through the DEB packages available for download from its homepage. I chose to make it so because the versions available from MX repositories are older (the latest one is still 7.5 at Back Ports repository ...
