@andyprough Thank you for this suggestion. For me, the chown command in the thread didn't help (the command ran fine, but didn't change the errors). As far as I can tell, everything in the .local/share/flatpak is owned by my user, and was before I did the command.

I rely on flatpaks for a few apps on MX. Suddenly they don't seem to be opening. Here is the current state:

* Apps do register as installed in the MX Package Installer, and I just updated them all there
* Flatpak apps do appear in XFCE Whisker Menu, but nothing happens when I click one

@Vipul88 - thanks very much, this is a very thorough writeup. I hope to give bspwm a try soon, but mostly I'm seeing a lot of stuff you do with bspwm that I can transfer over to my DWM and herbstluftwm setups. This is super helpful.

MAYBL8 - I extracted the control file from the kio-gdrive deb and deleted the reference to libkpimgapicore5 and lipkpimgapidrive5. Then I rebuilt the deb and tried installing it. The program works, but it only offers to sign into an account with "opendesktop.org" - there's no option for a Google ...

What's the output from apt policy libkpimgapicore5 and from apt policy libkpimgapicore5abi1

If you try sudo apt --fix-broken install and then sudo apt install kio-gdrive libkpimgapicore5abi1 libkpimgapicore5, what happens?

That does make urxvt look a lot better. Still not convinced I want to overcome all its other disadvantages in order to use it. I see there are scripts for adding tabs and adding unlimited scrollback, but apparently it bogs down with unlimited scrollback and people say to use tmux to handle ...
