I've got 18.3 running on two fairly old AMD quad cores (one is defo an FX, the other possibly an A10) and a nearly ten year old Toshiba Satellite laptop. I've got 19 on a live USB at the moment, will probably get round to installing it on the hardware in the new year ...

There's nothing wrong with being a mad scientist. I once met a molecular biologist who wanted to genetically engineer food that glowed in the dark once cooked. That way, when you were walking home from a night out and it was dark, you could use your takeaway as a torch. Bet he uses Debian Sid.
