Just to report my test experience:
- Starting from MX 25 beta XFCE AHS Live, appears to work fine, except repository list not showing in Synaptic. Started playing with MX 25 beta late in the game so apologize that have not yet read all of the forum reports for any suggestion on this...

I don't want to muddy the waters further. D_O has it right about Synaptic BUT I also have noticed a difference in how MX-23 and MX-25 deal with GTK4 themes... as an example on my MX-23 based system some early GTK4 Gnome apps like Simple Scan will correctly pick up the correct GTK4 ...

Actually that was available in MX 23.6.

I have a second internal NVME I'd like to change from XFAT to EXT4. Every time I have used Gparted it has ROOT as the owner. Is there a way to change permissons to user? I tried chown in Terminal but it did not take.

I know you advise to install Beta ISO in either a live USB or virtually. I have been using MX-25 Xfce ahs BETA as a daily system from the first install. There are no problems, it is upgraded in both MX and Debian and daily I use the terminal to keep them current. See below my QSI.
