Re: Network setup MX23 [Solved]
The user ID to access the share has to exist on the machine hosting the share... AND that user ID must have a SMB password as well. This is accomplished on the second tab ( U sers) of the MX Tool "MX SAmba Config". Thank you very much, it worked. I hope it soon comes back to normal as what I love ...

Re: Network setup MX23 [Solved]
In MX23 there is a firewall that is installed by default and is turned on. You should turn this off or setup ports for sharing. (Type in ufw ) in the MX Menu to open the Firewall ) The issue your seeing has been reported as a bug in thunar-shares-plugin https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p ...

Thanks for your answer. Sorry but I don't understand what you're telling me. Could you explain more in detail please ? What I do is that I right click on a folder >properties >share >share this folder > apply and I get the error.Charlie Brown wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 10:09 am On 23 ufw is on by default. Maybe you disable and try.

Network setup MX23 [Solved]
Hello, in MX21 just sharing a folder would make it available on the network. Now that I installed MX23 on two different machines, there's no way o access such a folder and there are problems in the process. I get a "net usershare returned error 255". I don't know of I have to open another thread for ...

Re: MX23 AHS freezes keyboard and mouse while MX23 doesn't [Solved]
CharlesV Thanks a lot. I installed XFCE MX23 standard edition and it worked almost flawlessly. Just a weird behaviour probably due to Ventoy that I used to install it. j2mcgreg As you said that AHS is not needed for my PC, I stuck to the standard version and it seems to work fine, thanks a lot ...

MX23 AHS freezes keyboard and mouse while MX23 doesn't [Solved]
Hello, I've been wanting to install XFCE MX23 AHS, and in the USB live, the keyboard and mouse don't respond while the Wacom tablet does. The regular XFCE MX23 USB live has no problem whatsoever. I tried several times but I always get the same issue in AHS. Also related to the problem, AHS refers to ...

Re: MX-23 RC3 (Xfce) Feedback thread
my system boots up just under 700MB at boot (htop app RAM reading), but I did some modification already like switching to compton compositor instead of the default xfwm compositor in MX Tweak. Saved me about 50MB ram at boot. Try MX23 on live usb. :) Very good ! Thanks a lot, I was worried as the ...

Re: MX-23 RC3 (Xfce) Feedback thread
Hello everyone and thanks again to the MXlinux team for my favorite OS.
I'm getting ready to migrate to MX-23 and I have seen in some reviews that RAM usage rose to 1GB. Is it in all cases and is it reversible ?

XFCE dual screen
Hello, since last XFCE when the monitors go into sleep mode the dual screen configuration goes back to one screen. I then have to select the dual screen configuration. Re: XFCE dual screen
Thanks for your help.
I think that the post you propose is about split view which is not my problem. I have a dual monitor and the new xfce keeps on going back to a single monitor. I now realize I should probably have posted in hardware...
