static/distortion in sound on a previously stable mx install (possible hardware issue?)

Hello, folks!

I have an MX Linux install running for a few months with zero problems. Today there seems to be static/distortion in my sound output. Sound was fine yesterday. The only thing that's changed or happened since yesterday is that I installed CS:GO via Steam (which came from apt) and I ...

are antiX packages/programs installable in MX? [Solved]

I'm not sure if I'm posting on the right subforum or not but I was curious if it was possible to get some of the antiX specific programs installed on MX by way of the package installer? I use antiX on a little netbook in my garage and I've found the "ytfzf" script to be immensely useful. It's under ...

MX on the Surface Pro 7+

Searching the forum, I found some conversation about MX on the SP4 but it didn't seem to go terribly well. I have a SP7+ for work and it's currently running Pop!_OS. I don't really need the touchscreen because my manual dexterity is kinda poor with such a large screen but I enjoy using the pen. I ...

I don't mind using that one liner now and again. It's really not a big issue. Can I mark your post as the solution, Huck?

occasionally my panel icons don't display properly - latest mx ahs, xfce [Solved]

Once in a while, my panel icons for open applications just turn to a gray rectangle. I'm not sure what causes it because I don't always notice it happening. Eventually they come back.

Re: Best partition scheme MX Linux

I personally like to keep a separate /home partition but note that your dotfiles may affect different installations.

Re: What distro do you favour? Beside MX/Antix of course...

I use Pop!_OS at work because it's basically Ubuntu but a little more polished. Almost all of our development runs on Ubuntu so it's nice to have something similar. I'm also using the linux-surface project stuff because that machine is a Surface Pro 7+. I don't care much for GNOME but I tolerate it ...

back to comfort...

I had some issues with my video card hardware failing and I thought maybe my install was running a little long in the tooth. I like to repave my system occasionally anyway. I ended up going through a heap of problems trying to get MX (and other distros) sorted before I figured out what was going on ...
