I recently installed VMWare Player, and I ran into the same problem. I resolved it by adding the following line to /etc/rc.local:
/etc/init.d/vmware start

Re: HP Deskjet All-in-One Ink Advantage Colour Printer Compatibility
Just a thought. Did you run "sudo sh hplip-3.20.x-plugin.run" from the command line to install the plugin? (Replace the x with your particular version number)
Also, it might be worth running "hp-check" from the command line to see if there are any missing dependencies.

Re: HP Deskjet All-in-One Ink Advantage Colour Printer Compatibility
AirPrint, or eSCL is a protocol (or language) that was developed by Apple. It was promoted by Apple as a way of scanning from a mobile device and any device that supports AirPrint version 1.4 (such as your printer/scanner) should support eSCL. The protocol is a vendor-neutral network protocol that ...

See here for the printer specification:

Under the specificatons tab, the section PRINTER SPECIFICATIONS, it says:

Re: HP Deskjet All-in-One Ink Advantage Colour Printer Compatibility
With regard to getting the scanner working, if the printer supports AirPrint, you could try installing the package sane-airscan which available from the repository. This supports "driverless" scanning on modern network scanners.

Re: Tip: Fluxbox as a basic windows tiler
There is a minimalist application finder called dmenu that is used in several window managers. I have found that it works fine in Fluxbox. Using dmenu I can usually open an application faster than with any other method, as you do not need to take your hands off the keyboard. When you start dmenu all ...

Hello Seaken64,
I did exactly the same as you. I am just so used to using sudo that I completely forgot how the script should be run. I was on the point of trying to run it without sudo and then I saw your post. Many thanks for that.
Could a small tweak be made to the script to bring up a message ...

Hello Jerry,
I have managed to achieve what I wanted. There is a setting in the init file that controls whether or not a window will obscure the slit when it is maximized. On my system it was set to true. Setting it to false means that the slit "holds its territory and is always visible", as it ...

Re: MX-Fluxbox 2.0 beta testing thread
Is there any way to have the doc in Fluxbox always visible? I like having the facility to just click once to activate an application that I frequently use. It would be nice to replicate the functionality of the panel in XFCE.

Re: MX-Fluxbox 2.0 beta testing thread
I have the doc set so that it starts automatically on logon. However, every time I log on, the icons on the dock appear in a different order. Is there any way to ensure that the dock always starts with the icons in a set order, preferably the order that you want them to appear?
