23.3 KDE: HDD-Folders changing permissions on the fly

I run 23.3 KDE, single boot (no windows). OS runs on a SSD, while documents, personal files are located on a few HDDs. All disks are ext4 formatted.

When I boot the machine, everything looks ok, meaning that the owner of /media/desktop/HDDx is User. However, after a while (time unknown, I would say ...

I am facing the same problem but I am not on dual boot with win. I am running Mx 23.3 with KDE and lately my non-system HDDs are mounted read-only. What is strange is that when I check permissions in Dolphin it says "user" and not "root" but in fact I cannot write on them.
The cumbersome workaround ...

MX23 auto start and auto update

I am setting up an old laptop to run pihole and maybe other services.

I’d like to set it up so it can auto shutdown, auto start (it should not be a problem setting a crontab) but what about having the system auto updating?

Sometimes I get bored of MX mainly because packages are not really the last releases and I want to try something newer and fresher.
Lately I have been hopping quite a bit, moving to opensuse tumbleweed then fedora (33 and 34) then manjaro: all of them were okish and with much newer packages than MX ...
