Thanks for all the helpful ideas. Much appreciated. I'm hoping when I get a chance to use a wired connection, try a different kernel to see if that works. I've tried quite a few suggestions but so far no luck.

I commented out # blacklist b43 and modprobe -r wl rebooted. No dice!

@JayM......I can't connect to the internet from the Netbook to post the QSI. Seems to be a Broadcom card though, in dormant mode.

Awesome job Jerry! MX-Fluxbox 1.1 works very well. I'm quite pleased with it. Thanks for your efforts.

Seems to be working for me. When I re-installed mx-fluxbox from the mx package manager and then redid the second step to initiate the home directory shutdown appears.

I upgraded through apt-get dist-upgrade to get the latest version of mx-fluxbox, then I tried to re-install it from the mx package manager

Tried that...no dice!
