Re: How to use Betterbird flatpak as default email client
You can also use the Betterbird install script to avoid running flatpak (nothing against flatpaks though):
https://github.com/Betterbird/thunderbird-patches/blob/main/install-on-linux/install-betterbird.sh
Installed BB 140 on two machines (MX23 KDE). Running much smoother than TB 128, all of my ...

Re: Broken Repo, Sweden Umeå
ok it is on our main server.
up until two weeks ago building from our repo was not suitable. you can do what you want, and it might be OK now, but if we break something, and it breaks something for you, don't come crying to me. :p We are far along, but still in development and sometimes we send ...

Re: Broken Repo, Sweden Umeå
the mx25 is not mirrored at this time. its not found anywhere, as we are not ready quite yet.
The MX-25 repo can be found here:
https://mxrepo.com/
I don't want to take advantage of development "in the open" so to speak so I figured it is better to ask:
Would it be wrong to distribute a ...

Re: Responses to Coming changes in impending MX 25 release.
I'm always happy to be corrected and informed especially in matters where I'm offering an impression and not facts, I don't know the details, I just know as someone building ISO's for many years that often changes seem to come TO Debian and then need adoption and not necessarily from within the ...

Re: Responses to Coming changes in impending MX 25 release.
Well, I don't pretend to know all the details and Gnome 2 was on it's way out when I got onboard but certainly RedHat seems to call the tune and what Fedora gets first (usually in an early beta state) we all get later. It's always puzzled me how Debian is often the cautious voice of choice and ...

That's neat. What's that theme called?
I think the Plasma theme and Kwin theme is Fluent Round. The Qt style is original Breeze with Breeze (Classic?) Light color scheme with one of the predefined accent colors in KDE ...

Re: Make MX Linux charge your phone
Fresh MXLinux install would not charge the phone from either USB-2 or USB-3 ports. Front or rear did not matter. Made these tweaks, and now my phone charges. It has been a fairly recent change to the Linux kernel from what I find. The bug does not exist in Debian 12, but it does in MX Linux.
I ...

Re: Some ideas for MX Linux 25 KDE
I tried Vivaldi and Brave both on MX-23.6 KDE and while they both launch they don't show any window and no errors seen when launching. Vivaldi DOES work fine however on Trixie KDE (which has KDE 6.3.6). Let us know if it does work for you as it may be a possibility something in my setup is borken ...

Re: Responses to Coming changes in impending MX 25 release.
It's great to see the live system being compatible with systemd. I'm no fan of systemd, but I'm tired of applications failing with SysV. It might not be common, but if you use AppImages, Flatpaks, (Snaps of course) and GitHub debs you will sooner or later encounter them. I accept systemd these days ...
