I'm always looking for different ways to answer the main question here ... xfce4-panel is my idea of a killer app ... and I found this elsewhere in the forum (or a forum):

The name; good Lord. They could call it Lennart's Corporate Surprise for all that it matters, providing it's not under the hood. The GPL and the fact that it's a GNU effort should more than make up for that.

Hiya Mark,

I'd take the alpha link with gratitude, and pay back with an install to the metal and some numbers from there, time permitting. (VirtualBox doesn't float my boat very high.)

As for what to include, I'd be all for as light as possible to start, even though I'd probably add back a good ...
