Re: Microsoft pushing subscription model
Microsoft became irrelevant way back in 1999, as far as I'm concerned, but it is time that governments & businesses realised the facts.

I tend to just use, & promote, my favourite distros - word of mouth - is so much more worthwhile.
I don't care if they think *buntu is the greatest distro - it does nothing for me - & that is what matters.

Re: antiX-17 released
Not sure if it's anything to worry about, but I was trying to download today - 64full downloaded quickly enough, but 64base seems to be extremely slow, on several mirrors. (Just for info, mainly.)

AntiX 16 has had all the known bugs sorted out, so either you got a dodgy download, or your disk might be going bad.
(I've installed a few times & never had any problems with any of the official releases, other than a dodgy download, once.)

Each distro will write its files to your /home directory, so there may be a clash of files, which is where personalised desktop info is kept, that is, your icon preferences are stored in your /home directory.

Only just signed in here to discuss our forum, it has been taken over - freeforums.org has evidently sold out to TapaTalk, & they are messing it up.
Options are being discussed right now, so I suggest wait & see what happens, before trying again. :)
