start-pulseaudio-x11 will not work to start pulseaudio.service MX is not using systemd in the same way as Manjaro

for simple audio recording I use BUTT
although it is usually for connecting to an icecast stream I have used it as a recorder occasionally
works in ALSA, Pulseaudio or JACK; records to mp3, Ogg, FLAC and more
But i would usually want a bigger set of tools in JACK for mixing and DSP of mic, VOIP ...

Thunar lacks a split-screen mode and can access only local files.
is split-screen mode any different/better than Thunar window tabs?
I didn't like using tabs in Thunar as i found it harder to keep track of files when moving things between folders, so still use two windows
not had problems ...
