Or open a Thunar window, Edit > Preferences > Behaviour under 'Context Menu' uncheck 'Show action to permanently delete files and folders'

You can't update Garmin devices with GPSBabel.
You can update Garmin devices on Linux by using Windows in a Virtual Machine.

EDIT: I should make that 'most' Garmin devices, my Instinct watch wouldn't play nice with the VM last time I bothered trying several years ago.

Yeah it is a mystery and the message we both received seems to indicate a permissions issue of some type.
I only have the one install of MX-23 Xfce and this is the first install of any MX version I've seen this permissions message when changing the background image of the greeter, usually it's open ...

Just for the record I was using a regular install of 23.6 but had the same LightDM permissions message you got.

Seems there's now a couple of apps have had similar things changed with MX-23.
Earlier today I installed imwheel and found there was no longer the file ~/.imwheel.rc ...

I noticed the same with MX 23.6 a week or two ago when wanting to change the default background in lightdm-gtk-greeter to a different one.
I ended up just copying the image to a folder lightdm-gtk-greeter had permissions to use, in this case /usr/share/lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings.

Indeed we were too much focused on 'distributing' so choose that option.
Then made another snap based on the 1st option 'for personal bu' and added some folders in the exclusion file list.
This works fine accept the wifi settings didn't come through plus the ...

Perhaps the text "for distribution to others" in the GUI could be improved by adding something like "this will not preserve any custom settings" or maybe "any changes you've made will be reset back to default" or similar wording?
Similar with the the tooltip maybe?

Many thanks @asqwerth for the tip, 'Show shadows under dock windows' was checked in Settings > Window Manager Tweaks > Compositor in MX 23 but not in MX 21.

Hello All,

On my only install of MX-23 on a laptop, when I try to create a transparent panel using a transparent .png as a background, it leaves a visible line around the edges of the panel.

Anyone know how to remove that line?

My other MX installs (21.3) this doesn't happen using the same ...
