Re: apt-notifier in ICEWM tray

Did you follow the steps here: https://antixlinux.com/package-updates-notifier/

Hi Anticapitalista,

Welllllll, of course I didn't....

I'm from Puppy-verse, you know, we just dive-in thinking we know what we're doing, wreck havoc, and then wonder why the water is soon at waist-level & rising ...

apt-notifier in ICEWM tray

Hi all,

Have a question about the "apt-notifier" in the ICEWM tray.

I saw it was released (as standard when installing for full version of AntiX ), so I thought I could install in my latest & fully updated 'base' AntiX.

I used Synaptic, searched for 'apt-notifier', and let Synaptic install ...

Re: MX-19 Beta 3 Feedback

Well, a new niggle/problem cropped up along with mx-updater still not functioning correctly (posted yesterday about it: https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=533049#p533049 ).

A repo that had been working great just suddenly stopped. Maybe the 'MX-Snapshot...' there got pulled last night. It it ...

Re: MX-19 Beta 3 Feedback - mx-updater broke??

Hi MX Team,

Been running MX-19 since for a few months now. Use it stock--translation: I add nothing to it except the spyware (haha) Chrome browser since everything else I need is included. To me, 19 is pretty much awesome like 18 and 17 is/was.

Have one question though: since the update to 19.2.1 ...

Re: Can Stevo/Dolp/Fehl/Chris help me understand this, plz?

Thanks everyone & especially Dolphin---what you wrote finally made the lightbulb ( i.e. as to why systemd is included, er, I mean 'tolerated' and the ifconfig example ) go off in my head.

Also, I laughed and not in a good way, when you said " systemd and vacuum... ". Why? I happen to know one of ...

Re: Can Stevo/Dolp/Fehl/Chris help me understand this, plz?

Hi Fehlix,

Thanks for responding. But what you wrote is already a given. You're missing the point---ufw, saned, they were examples. Root (or sudo or su) has nothing to do with what I am describing, for if they were, then MX would not have included in the .bashrc in the /home/ directory the ...
