No problem here using sysvinit, didn't even have to login again.

Sounds to me like it's a hardware fault. In my experience (+50 yrs) , if electronics are going to fail they do it within the first 10 power on hours or after 5 years.
Just Murphy's law that it happened after an OS reload. Sudden death is a co-incidence.

This morning trying to get to any youtube channel would bring up a blank page, turned off "block ads" in Ghostery solved the problem. I guess there was an overnight Ghostery update that causes the issue.

If so , how do I do that?

photoprint was in the M19 test repo. Maybe it works in MX21 or can be "tweaked"?

MX21 has a (to my mind) a quirk whereby the default is NOT to use the root password but the user (sudo) password.

If you connect to ProtonVPN using the GUI, I presume you can logout from it as well. I stopped using the GUI soon after it came out as it appeared to have a memory leak or something.
