Debian appears to have dropped 32 bit kernel builds

"Debian will not be building 32 bit x86 kernels in Debian 13 and onward"

As a antiX-23.1_386-base user (on Asus eeePC Atom) I feel sad to hear that :-(

Re: Nice job!

After 4 months using MX17 in a daily basis I am still pretty happy with it. Since I dropped compiz my DE is now very stable. I still miss a little the workspace compiz expo option but I prefer by far the system it is now than the one it was before when compiz was enabled.

Re: MX-Linux 17.1 xfce 12-5-2018 compiz ready.

I've just reached a situation I can reproduce using ALT-TAB to invoke window switch selector.

When emeral window decorator is down (window's decoration is gone):

run emerald in a termnal window to bring it back emerald --replace &
keep the same terminal window open to see emeral error output ...

Re: MX-Linux 17.1 xfce 12-5-2018 compiz ready.

Hi there,

My Emerald crashes from to to time. I just have to re-run emerald --replace in a terminal window to bring it back so it's not really a big deal (and it's not that often). But if someone has an idea to get rid of that, I'd be interested. I have no other pb with compiz/emerald to report yet.

Re: Nice job!

Hello,

I am a Mint user for quiet a while (and no complain about it). Though I like to look what others do around and I have found Mepis/Antix/Mx project to be very appealing (especially MX as an XFCE fan). Since Mint 19 final was not out when I received my new Laptop I decided to I take the ...

Re: Do I need 64 bit?

Well, I'm afraid I won't be able to bring the slightest help on this... The best I can do is to send my support; maybe a 'donate' click can do it. Done.

Re: Do I need 64 bit?

Since I'm new to MX-14 and I find this distro very appealing I'm glad you still consider to discuss this topic. Thank you for your patience. (As for my comment about "competition" I was just refering to Uncle Mark's "look out mint !")

I don't agree with most arguments previously exposed against a ...

Re: Do I need 64 bit?

Let's be straight here: MX will never challenge major xfce distros like Mint, Xubuntu or whatever without a 64bit edition. Even the forever 32bit PCLOS have been pushed by the community to release 64bit editions.

Re: Do I need 64 bit?

Still, I would be pleased to install a 64bit version on my i-core7. Since Antix comes with both 32 and 64bit versions, I thought MX14 would have followed the same way. In my opinion, MX14 will not raised in popularity if there is only a 32bit version. Most people want 64bit nowadays for their brand ...
