I solved it by updating the appimage with a small startup script as suggested by @l0dr3.
Thanks to both @j2mcgreg and @l0dr3 for taking the time to address my problem.

Yes, but I update with and they get updated, which is why I wanted to switch to flatpak (although it seems to me, maybe I'm wrong, that appimages are lighter).

in fact for now I am using appimage, but the flatpack would update automatically along with the rest of the system, while appimage has to be updated manually and sometimes I forget.

On MX Linux 21 (but also out of 23 it is the same) Cryptomator in the Flatpak version opens the vault but then freezes. With the Appimage version, however, everything is ok.
Looking at the log (which I attach) there is this error:
GTK-Message: 14: 07: 26.549: Failed to Load Module ...

Hi ServiTec, were you able to fix the problem with the Vaio's keyboard? I have a Vaio SVF1531c5E with the same problem and i can't seem to fix it.
