Re: Dropbox can't load the libappindicator library for the tray icon
Update: May went by, and Dropbox is still working. I think the notification was being overtly conservative regarding the system requirements to run the Dropbox desktop app.

Re: Dropbox can't load the libappindicator library for the tray icon
Update from the installation where I was having the problems (QSI on first post).
I installed the recommended libraries (most, if not all, I already had) and (more importantly I think) I enabled Status Tray Plugin in the panel. After a restart, I got my dropbox icon back, and I am able to access ...

Re: Dropbox can't load the libappindicator library for the tray icon
Hi all,
I am writing this from another Xfce computer I use. In this one I installed the required libraries and dropbox is working perfectly. I will check my other laptop later and check whether the proposed solutions work for that system.

Re: Dropbox can't load the libappindicator library for the tray icon
The error is seen in that I cannot access the dropbox app anymore, so I don't have access to thing like preferences, selective syncing, etc. The exact message I get from Dropbox at startup (dropbox is congifured to run at startup) is attached as an image:

[SOLVED] Dropbox can't load the libappindicator library for the tray icon
Hello everyone,
I am reviving this thread because I have the same issue as OP, but downloading libayatana-appindicator3-1 didn't fix the issue for me. Maybe it has to do with the version of the library (and therefore the version of MX one is running?)
My quick system info:

Re: booting from Live MX Fluxbox shows grub command line only
Thanks for the suggestion. I created the usb image with the MX Live USB Maker and something odd is that the process went very slow. It lasted almost an hour. So there might indeed be something wrong with the USB or the image recorded in it. I reinstalled my system and I don't have the iso file I ...

Re: booting from Live MX Fluxbox shows grub command line only
Yes I figured it should, but it wasn't in my case. This is not urgent. I just tested and installed the newest MX version with Xface. But if someone could help me figure out why the usb with fluxbox didn't work, that'd be great

booting from Live MX Fluxbox shows grub command line only
Hi all,
I wanted to try the latest MX fluxbox release, so I created a live USB that is recognized as such if plugged in while my session is active. However, when I try to boot from usb, I get sent to the grub command line.
I have seen instructions to boot from the usb via grub command line. From ...

Re: Request for a more recent version of R (r-base-core)
though I hope that doesn't make it almost useless.
I am afraid that would be the case. The packages in r-recommended are... strongly recommended. They are pretty much essential to work with R.
Still, I am able to use r in my MX 19 computer right now, so there's no rush to get the latest version ...
