64-bit torrent link broken [Solved]
Re: 64-bit torrent link broken
Can the site directly host and provide the torrent file, or does it have to be somewhere else? In the worst case, they could be in zip attachments here, I guess.
Re: 64-bit torrent link broken
The torrent files are only ~30kB, so no need to zip them. I think we could host the torrent file on the site once it is issued by archive.org

Re: 64-bit torrent link broken
I will consult with Karen re the Website. i do not see why they could not. Better to have them there than here.Stevo wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2019 8:42 pm Can the site directly host and provide the torrent file, or does it have to be somewhere else? EDIT: By the way the 32 bit torrent link already directly downloads the torrent.

Re: 64-bit torrent link broken
What about also using/providing a magnet link.
It is easier to fight for one's principles then to live up to them.
Re: 64-bit torrent link broken
Not sure what goes on, the torrent works fine here downloaded 18% in a matter of seconds, the files if I go in incognito indeed show as not downloadable as in the screenshot. Didn't do anything to that that to require log in access on archive.org but I'm not that familiar with the site and is kind of not userfriendly...

Still broken for me when accessed from the Website.Adrian wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2019 9:06 pm Not sure what goes on, the torrent works fine here downloaded 18% in a matter of seconds, the files if I go in incognito indeed show as not downloadable as in the screenshot. Re: 64-bit torrent link broken
Karen questioned if these are the correct links.

Re: 64-bit torrent link broken [Solved]
Right now archive.org is creating the .torrent files and they are not magnet links. They use something called, Getright-style webseeding. For a short-term fix, we might be able to host the current two .torrent files issued by archive.org on our website to bypass the restrictions that archive.org is appears to applying to .torrent file downloads.
Longer term we can look into creating our own magnet links, but *it appears* they would need to be created on a 24/7 server with a pretty hefty Internet link. We need to understand this better....

Re: 64-bit torrent link broken
Paul, AFAIK, the forum doesn't allow for .torrent files to be directly attached, which is why I zipped mine.Adrian wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2019 9:06 pm Not sure what goes on, the torrent works fine here downloaded 18% in a matter of seconds, the files if I go in incognito indeed show as not downloadable as in the screenshot. Adrian, apparently the high volume of downloads for the 64-bit version automatically moved it to a "high bandwidth" collection only accessible to those who were logged in. The torrents have plenty of seeders outside of archive.org now, so they it doesn't matter if they block their contributions to the torrent.
Rich, those are the correct links for the torrent files.
